About halfway between Indio and Blyth (actually much closer to Indio than Blyth) on Interstate 10 is the General Patton museum. He used desert in this area for tank maneuver training. About half a mile from our condo is the building he used as a headquarters in Indio. It's been preserved. I didn't have my notebook with me so I can't tell you what type of tanks those are but no one can mistake the image of Patton and his Bull Dog.
