I just bought (at Costco) The complete National Geographic (1888 to 2008, 1440 issues). What a find. It comes on 6 DVDs and has all the articles, pictures and advertisements just like the original volumes and at $39.95 it's not a bank buster.. The first article I immersed myself in was the Salton Sea (probably because I live right next door) It was written in 1906 while the misdirected Colorado River was still pouring into the Salton Sink (with no end in sight). It was very detailed as are all NG articles and interesting because it was written at the time it was happening. I'm looking forward to a lot of good reading.
