Today I visited Palm Springs, just twenty miles down Highway 111. Palm Springs downtown area actually stretches along two side by side streets, Palm Canyon Drive and Indian Canyon Drive. For those of you who have been there, you will probably recognize the corner of Tahquitz Canyon and Palm Canyon (below) where the well known Starbucks has its sidewalk cafe on the corner.

Across Palm Canyon from Starbucks is the Plaza Theater which is home to the famous (geriatric) Follies. I went to them once and was quite impressed with how well the (senior) dancers dance and look for that matter.

Near bye on Tahquitz Canyon there are other sidewalk cafes, one with a notable celebrity showing a lot of leg.

This next shot is shows the ever present flowers around the bases of the palm trees all along the downtown streets.

I then drove through some neighborhoods (see typical neighborhood house below)to a street where I could get elevated enough to show the sprawl of Palm Springs. The street was just a stones throw from the road up to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (covered in an earlier post).
