Coming home from grocery shopping (after bingo) we saw a balloon coming in for a landing. I pulled over real quick, jumped out and shot these three pictures while it came in.

One of their landing crew (following in a pickup) jumped out and they threw him a rope which he anchored somehow (i was busy getting these photos) You can see the rope from the basket to the ground.

Seconds later it was secure on the ground although I can only describe the landing as a controlled crash. But what do I know?
